Robin Settle Jones grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia, in the days when neighborhood kids played kickball in the streets, and sold lemonade—I mean, taught piano to make a little spending money for the local mall.
Having sung her first solo in church at eight years old, Robin has always had a heart for church music ministry. She became a church pianist at eleven years old and began teaching piano by age thirteen. Robin learned at an early age, when her older brother was tragically killed by a lightening strike, that music could be therapeutic, not only for herself but for others.. By twelve years old, she was playing and singing weekly at nursing homes, and was invited to sing and play for weddings and funerals. Robin studied as a piano performance major at Tennessee Temple University and Clayton State University, and then later as a Secondary Education Major at Trinity Baptist College. While in college, she enjoyed singing in various ensembles; and was a collaborative pianist for university choirs, soloists, and theater productions. She was honored to travel with ensembles performing in 30+ states and abroad. Robin has professional affiliations with Music Teachers National Association and National Association of Music Clubs. Her students have consistently earned the highest ratings and honors at music festivals and competitions, many receiving music scholarships for summer workshops and college. On a personal note, Robin has been blessed with a wonderful husband of 28 years, two amazing adult children, ages 24 and 21 and a lovely daughter in law. She loves cats, milk chocolate with almonds, blonde roasted coffee with ice-cream creamer, and spending time with family and friends. |
TEACHER MISSIONRobin desires that her students enjoy making music and sharing music with others for their entire lifetime. She teaches students from age 3-103!! She believes that each student is unique and caters to each individual person to meet their personal goals, from recreational music making, or leading worship in church, to preparing for competitions and college auditions.
